CBG Members are invited to a Shoal Lily Excursion on May 17th at Flat Shoals Creek in West Point, Georgia. Explore the beautiful blooms of these rare lilies in their natural habitat guided by shoal lily researcher, Sarah Tash from Auburn University. This unique experience offers an up-close look at one of nature’s most stunning floral displays without having to venture into the water.
We will be carpooling to the site together. If you are willing to be a driver, please reach out to Tabby at tlinville@columbusbotanicalgarden.org
This trip contains a moderate amount of activity. The hike to the trails is 10-15 minutes and is a moderate difficulty. Please wear proper footwear.
The viewing site is more accessible than many others in our region but is still remote with no cell service, no restroom available, and a moderate trail walk. Depending on water levels and flow, we may be able to wade into the creek.
